GOC Sussex Ditchling Beacon Walk, April 2016

Starting from Ditchling Village centre, today's group of twelve hardy walkers set out for the top of Ditchling Beacon. Although there was plenty of mud it couldn't take the edge off a beautiful Spring day.

As promised the views at the top, north and south, were spectacular with clear horizons and we carried on across to the lunch spot, a field to ourselves with a view.

The afternoon was down and across the southern weald via classic Spring scenes of Bluebells, Blossoms and Lambs, to the village of Streat with its beautiful Jacobean manor house and then back to Ditchling.

There, to the bemusement of the Village Hall Yoga class we set up camp on the little green in the car park for a well deserved serving of tea and cakes. A lovely way to round off a gorgeous Spring day.
