Enys near Penryn, Cornwall

An excellent turnout of around 25 members and guests including a couple of people on thier first walk with the group met in near perfect walking conditions in the village of Mylor Bridge, near Penryn in West Cornwall.

Leaders Nik and Mike led us through the woods and paths around the Enys Estate and later we dropped down to the banks of Falmouth Bay overlooking Penryn. We followed the coast to Flushing, Mylor Churchtown where some refreshed with local ice cream and up the creek to Mylor and back to the beginning utilising roads, paths and shingle shores.

One of the gang with a pedometer said we’d covered nearly 10 miles – we certainly felt a bit weary, weather-beaten and in dire need for a cuppa tea come the end.

This was a most successful day of walking and it’s thanks to members for organising and supporting. GOC in Cornwall is thriving due to a loyal bunch of supporters. Do come along and join us if you are on holiday down our way. You can be assured of a friendly welcome.

event report thanks to Terry.
