Effingham Forest and Netley Heath
This will be a 10 mile circular walk of a moderate nature. The conditions under foot should be dry (20 June). It will pass farm land prior to a steep descent to Effingham Forest. A couple of Grade II-listed bridges that are part of the Lovelace Bridges Project will be encountered on the way to the woodland of White Downs and the return will be along the North Downs Way with good views of the Surrey countryside. Netley Heath was used to billet Canadian troops prior to the Normandy landings and relics of this era can be seen at various points on the walk. Bring a packed lunch and something to sit on.
