Christmas Lunch at The Owl and Pussycat, Laugharne.

What an absolutely fantastic turnout we had for our end of term/end of year, party.Twenty seven people emerged from all directions and congregated at the beautiful Laugharne, though I must say it was not looking its absolute best on this wet and murky December day.

Five brave souls turned up for the optional walk and many thanks go to Robert for leading a lovely mini tour of Dylan Thomas's haunts.

Indeed thanks go to Robert and Dafydd for suggesting we hold our Christmas Lunch at The Owl and Pussycat which turned from a lovely idea into a really perfect day attracting a bumper gathering for our last event of 2015. We celebrated a fantastic year where we'd explored near and far, up hill and down dale.

The exclusivity of the venue gave the place that bit extra, so the lovely feel good factor really came through, with friendly faces all around.

Most enjoyed an aperitif before the meal arrived, which was a very tasty array of scrummy food, rounded off by a selection of even scrummier desserts.

Everyone seemed to be enjoying, with chat and laughter aplenty.

Russ gave a very eloquent speech and reminded us of some lovely places we had visited in 2015 before presenting two lovely gifts to me--Al--for all the hard work I'd done throughout the year.

Taking over the open mic, I reminded people of some other of our recent jaunts and thanked everyone for the lovely thoughtful gifts which were much appreciated especially the scrummy --have I already used that word once or twice before in this write up??!!--hot chocolate gift selection.

All too soon it seemed, people started to depart for their homes, expressing all good wishes for the Festivities to come.

A few of us stayed just a little while longer for "one for the road"--a beverage I mean of course, and then it was time for everyone to wind their happy ways home.

It was so good to see so many people coming from far and wide to join in the lovely celebrations.

As I said on the day:

"As another great year comes to an end

I see another just around the bend"

We do have a fantastic programme for next year with, in the main, new places for us to explore.

I look forward to joining members old and new in some great adventures in 2016.
