The alternative bank holiday attractions reduced our numbers slightly on Sunday, but 20 walkers and one dog enjoyed a pleasant level walk in the Surrey Weald ably led by Adrian. Bright greens of early summer clothed the countryside contrasting with the grey green wheat fields.
The weather was fine throughout the walk, but when we returned to the car park for our refreshing tea and cakes some light rain didn’t affect proceedings. There was a fine selection of cakes to choose from including two different chocolate cakes and three different drizzle cakes. Lemon; orange; lime & lemongrass - a cornucopia of bright citric flavours to refresh the jaded palate. Our thanks to our generous confectionary providers: Sue; Robert; James; Rupert; Anon; Gordon.
