On a lovely sunny morning 13 of us (and a dog called Nancy) set out from Totnes to enjoy a walk on the western bank of the river Dart. We soon left the town behind us and found ourselves on a lovely mix of shaded riverside footpaths and open fields.
After meeting and exchanging greetings with a local ramblers group we took the opportunity for a tea break to allow the other group to move ahead and for us to take in the lovely scenery.
Entering the grounds of the Sharpham estate we made our way to the beautiful village of Ashprington where we enjoyed a picnic lunch in the community orchard and where some of us took the opportunity to try the open air gym equipment!
We followed footpaths on higher ground as we made our way back to Totnes and so we were able to enjoy yet more stunning views!
