Film Stars For A Day?
GOC Sussex were delighted to welcome to their November walk a small team from the University Of Portsmouth making a short filmed item on an LGBT+ topic, just 7-10 mins long.
The walk itself was very good. Led by Justin it was characteristically interesting and varied, taking in the countryside around the Goodwood racecourse, which is rightfully said to have one of the most beautiful settings in the world. We also saw lovely Sussex villages and the Trundle Iron Age hill fort with spectacular views of the South Downs and across Chichester to the Isle of Wight and the English Channel. The dry sunny weather helped greatly, giving us a chance to show off GOC at its best.
The students were in the final year of their TV & Broadcasting degree and were looking "to make a happy documentary about LGBT+ people meeting up, having a good time and enjoying life". This would be part of their coursework and they'd be judged on both the end product and the process they followed to engage with us, explaining what they were doing and getting the necessary approvals. They were very professional and excellent company on the day, not once complaining as we dragged them with their equipment through brambles and mud. We're looking forward to seeing the film they make.
