Despite the leaden skies 25 of us including two new members set off on the walk round Woldingham, led by Judy through some stunning countryside. As the rain intensified so did our determination to press on regardless, after a morning coffee break we enjoyed some impressive views of the Northdowns on route to Judy & Alice's house.
A warm welcome, complete with delicious homemade scones, ginger snaps, cakes and tea was supplied by Judy & Alice as well as the chance to shelter from the inclement weather! It was agreed that owing to persistent precipitation that we would shorten the afternoon walk back to Woldingham station.
Alice led us on the return route a section of which had only been reopened recently thanks to the local community working together to persuade the local council to uncover a hidden right of way. Once back at the station we took over the platform much to the surprise of onlookers! whilst we all enjoyed a scrumptous selection of home made cakes and quiches.
Many thanks to Judy & Alice for leading the walk, Gordon for the attached images and to all those who provided culinary delights and refreshments on the day.
