On a warm sunny Wednesday which marked the Autumnal Equinox, 10 of us set off from Postbridge up the path lined with pine trees that lead us through Bellever Forest, out onto the open moor and up to Bellever Tor where we stayed for a while to take in the 360 degrees view of Dartmoor and beyond.
Our descent took us through gorse in full bloom, and down a steep lane where we followed a forest trail to Bellever Woods. Here we picnicked by the East Dart river, enjoying the tranquil scenery.
There were more views to admire on our return leg to Postbridge, where the 10 of us were able to seat ourselves around a picnic table and enjoy tea and cakes from the local Post Office and Stores.
