Rambling on at the 2018 AOG

The 2018 Annual Outdoor Gathering, at University of Wolverhampton, organised by Peter Blackburn and Robert Poniatowski and his team from Western Midlands group, turned out to be a corker of an event. Shropshire has so much to offer in its World Heritage Sites, stately homes, museums, beautiful villages and many scenic trails resulting in our hosts having plenty to show off. Roberts’s team are preparing event reports from the weekend which will appear on the website shortly which leaves me to concentrate on the Annual General Meeting....

UNITED KINGDOM IDENTIFIED AS SECOND MOST LGBTI+ FRIENDLY DESTINATION IN EUROPE

The United Kingdom is Europe’s second most LGBTI+ friendly destination after Norway, with the most cities in the top ten, according to data released ahead of this year’s Pride celebrations.

In a report from mid to long-term rental specialists, Spotahome, results from across 33 European cities and 18 countries identified the United Kingdom as leading the way for LGBTI+ rights, ahead of France, Portugal and Denmark....

AOG –Final Reminder About Bookings

Hi everybody! May I remind you that online bookings for the AOG will close at midnight on Saturday 30th June. This applies not only to new bookings, but also to amending existing bookings. If you are considering adding items to your existing booking, which I know some members have been discussing, it will be much easier if it is done by 30th June. After that date, any new bookings, or additions to existing bookings, will be subject to availability and may only be made by writing to me at Gay Outdoor Club, 7 Lilac Gardens, Croydon CR0 8NR, enclosing a cheque for the relevant amount....

AOG Update

I am delighted to report that 160 members have now booked their place at this year’s AOG, of whom 127 will be staying on campus. Please remember that bookings for accommodation and meals will close at midnight on 30th June. I will have to finalise numbers with the university just a few days after that, so get your booking in as soon as you can. There is still plenty of accommodation available, so please come and join us!

Online booking for the various outdoor activities is now open, and will close on 24th July....
