West Wales BBC Wales request

I'm emailing on the off-chance you may be able to help with a news feature I'm working on for BBC Wales?

We're working on a feature in which we'd like to film with some LGBT groups in Wales, and interview some young and older people about their experiences of how they have been treated by other people in their communities - good or bad - over the years, and how that has changed over time.

It's coming off the back of a poll we'll be releasing which asked 1,000 people in Wales how they view same sex relationships, which received actually quite a positive response.

We're particularly interested, in this piece, in asking about people's experiences in rural parts of the country as well as urban areas - because I think LGBT stories in the media tend to focus on life in urban areas, and maybe ignore the rural communities a bit. Plus there's a traditional view that rural areas are less tolerant, that - although the numbers were small - wasn't actually reflected in our poll.

The piece is part of a short season on BBC Wales exploring 'the changing face of Wales'.

Your group looks really interesting, and I'd love to talk to you more about what we're doing, to see if your members may possibly want to get involved as a group?

Could you contact me if this is something you are interested in? I'm on 07702 921673 and my email address is [email protected]

We're hoping to speak to a range of people over the next couple of days, to set up some filming for the end of this week or next week - and we can always come out on the weekend too. It wouldn't be much, as the finished piece on Wales Today would only be around 3 minutes long!

Thanks very much in advance for your time,
