Nominations for Trustees
As both a registered charity and a company limited by guarantee, Gay Outdoor Club is run by its trustees. The trustees are elected in full at the AGM each year, and any club member is entitled to stand for election. There are 12 vacancies.
Nominations are now invited. If there are more than six nominees, (the minimum number of trustees that we are allowed to have) a ballot will be held at the AGM at Telford on Saturday 28th July 2018 (with postal and electronic voting available as in previous years).
If there are between six and twelve nominees, a nominee who receives the support of more than half the members who vote will be elected. If there are more than twelve nominees, the twelve who receive the largest number of votes will be elected.
All nominations are for the role of trustee. There are no separate elections for the roles of chairman, secretary or treasurer – these roles are appointed by the trustees from among their number once they are in post.
You will find a nomination form in the magazine, or can download one using the link below, with instructions for completion. A candidate requires one proposer and one seconder. All three individuals must be members of the club.
Resolutions for the Annual General Meeting
Any club member can propose a resolution for debate at the AGM, provided that he or she has the support of eight other members. Any resolutions for debate at Telford on 28th July should be submitted to me on the form in the magazine or downloaded below. Such resolutions will be debated together with any resolutions submitted by the trustees.
Completed nomination and resolution forms should be sent to me to arrive no later than Monday 4th June 2018.
Nomination and resolution forms can be sent by post to:
Graeme Brown, 9 The Terrace, Rochester ME1 1XN
or by email to: [email protected]
If you are sending a form by email, please remember to put GOC AGM in the email title.
