Hi everyone. To those of you that don't already know, my name is Paul- the new GOC Coordinator for Cornwall. I have been walking with the GOC on and off for about 4 years now and having met many great people along the way I decided shortly before Christmas that it was time to get a little more involved in the group and its events.
Every time I've walked with the group I've discovered another part of Cornwall which I didn't previously realise existed. This, together with the social atmosphere every time we walk is what I feel makes the GOC a great group to belong to.
As a group, we don't have to stop simply at Sunday morning walks across Cornwall. 2017 could be the year to try new things which none of us may previously have thought of. This morning at 8.30 for instance I found myself taking a cold plunge in the water at flushing near Falmouth!. Without my friends who live in Denmark who are spending Christmas week over here with family I wouldn't have given it a second thought! To them in Denmark its an everyday thing so 2017 could be about giving something new a try (even if its not the choice I made this morning!!)
Please contact me with any ideas you have for the group- no matter how extreme they may seem!! Meanwhile Happy New Year to you all and I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible early in 2017.
