In January 2014 GOC Surrey walked in the area of Caesars’ Camp and it rained all the day, you can remind yourself of the weather here. At the time we could all see that it had the potential for a splendid walk in finer weather.
Yesterday Richard enabled us to revisit the area and led 24 walkers (and one dog) on a new route starting from picturesque Farnham, with lunch at the top of Caesars’ Camp with its stunning views. We didn’t just walk on sandy heathland but also farmland and concluded by walking through Farnham Park with glimpses of Farnham Castle. This time the weather was ideal, sunny with fast moving clouds and some light breezes to cool us on the short inclines.
We concluded our walk with tea so our thanks to our many bakers and marketeers: orange and cardamom cake; banana cake; lemon curd flan, GOC 43 years anniversary carrot cake, lemon drizzle; lemon tartlets; chocolate ginger cookies, chocolate tea cakes - did I forget any?
