Two new stretches of the England Coast Path now open
29 Apr 2014 | Associated Organisations
We have been celebrating the opening of the first stretches of the England Coast Path in Cumbria and County Durham which will become part of a continuous route along England’s coastline.
We celebrated the opening of the coast path between Allonby and Whitehaven, Cumbria, on Monday 14 April and the following day we were in the North East to celebrate the new stretch of coast path between North Gare in Hartlepool and South Bents in Sunderland.
These recently created stretches – totally 91km altogether – are part of the England Coast Path – an exciting project to open up the English coast and create a 3,000 mile path beside the sea.
