Our programme for 2018 started today with a relatively easy 6 mile walk in North Oxfordshire, just outside the Cotswold aonb.
Despite the absence of some of our regular walkers, who had sucumbed to various 'man flu's' and chest infections, a healthy bunch of 14 guys, plus 1 lady and 1 dog, met for a ramble from Swerford.
Today's walk leader, the lovely Andrew, started the walk with a short history lesson, giving fascinating facts and figures of the origins of Swerford Castle, whilst standing upon the grassy mound that is all that is left of it today.
Thankfully the weather remained dry for the whole of the walk, although overcast and just a little muddy underfoot.
At the end of the walk, attendees were rewarded with a fine selection of Andrews home made cakes, before departing to various corners of the Midlands area and beyond.
