Peter led us on this lovely walk in bright sunshine and we all basked in its toasty warmth. The stunning views were enlivened with hints of Autumn gold and red visible in some of the trees. Although the walk was easy you can see that someone took advantage of the lunch stop to catch up on some sleep!
We marvelled at the unusual Watts memorial Chapel with its terracotta exterior and amazing interior; a quirky mix of Arts and Crafts blended with Art Nouveau.
We concluded our walk with tea, coffee and a fine selection of cakes thanks to our dedicated team of bakers and marketeers:-
Robert L - Carrot cake (Dan Lepard)
Rupert - Apple turnovers
Howard - Bread pudding
Robert C - Iced tarts
Gordon - Carrot cake (Felicity Cloake)
Yes, we had two carrot cakes but they were two very different cakes. Ignoring the calorific content a lot of people managed to try a slice of each, just so that they could compare the recipes. Such dedication, and all in the cause of culinary perfection!
