Last Sunday, showing determination worthy of the Royal Marines, South Midlands stalwarts braved 30 Celsius to cover 9 miles through beautiful Oxfordshire countryside. We were rewarded with a diverse landscape of farmland, riverside trails, parkland, lakes and woods. For fans of the unusual, we were also treated to various points of interest, including the Beckham’s country retreat; our Prime Minister’s childhood home; Soho Farmhouse, playground of the rich and famous …and zebras!
The picturesque village of Great Tew provided a welcome conclusion with the whole group retiring to the renowned Falkland Arms pub for well-earned refreshment.
