A group of ten assembled at the start point at Sand Bay on a very welcome sunny day. Despite some concerns from the walk leader as to whether we may be able to begin the walk up to Sand Point due to a "Tough Ten" running race taking place in the area at the same time all worked out well, and after sharing the track upwards with some of the runners ( we were walking, they were running ) we were soon at the top of Sand Point with fine views over Sand Bay and the Welsh coastline in the further distance. Then down the track and a walk of the full length of Sand Bay and on into Weston Woods towards Weston-Super-Mare. The group fragmented a bit on arrival into Weston and a smaller group of five of us convened to a local hostelry for food and drinks before getting the bus back from Weston Pier to Sand Bay.
Many thanks to all who came along and made it an enjoyable walk in enjoyable company. It was good to see both familiar and new faces.
