'A Trip Up The Toots' - 5th July - Selsley nr Stroud
A group of 17 of us, led by Jon & John, took a trip up the hills near Stroud to the Neolithic burial mounds, known as the 'Toots' on 5th July. Walking up through the woods to the top of the common for a well earnt cuppa
The walk was packed with variety ..... from bright hot sunshine to sudden showers, from the New Stone Age burial mounds to the Georgian Stroudwater canal, to the Victorian Gothic splendour of Selsey church. With some fine botanic specimens to see on Selsey Common Jon kept the facts (and chocolate) coming throughout the walk.
Ending back in Kings Stanley, most of the group made a bee line to the Kings Head to finish off the day.
Many thanks Jon for report & 'photo's.
