Jurassic Coast Weekend, Sept 2012
In early September 2012 a dozen group members spent a long weekend down on the Jurassic Coast of Dorset at Lyme Regis. This was a chance to enjoy a change of scenery amid spectacular cliffs and headlands on this World Heritage site. The walking was a great pleasure; there was fine company, excellent pubs and some really good food in the local restaurants making this a very memorable trip.
Bignor Walk - downland views and a Summer picnic, July 2012
After a lovely 8 mile walk led by Gordon near Bignor in West Sussex with plenty of beautiful downland views we ended with a picnic generously stocked with delicious food brought (and mostly made!) by members. This was a joint walk between the Sussex and Surrey groups.
Arun Valley, May 2012
A 10 mile walk led by Olawale through the villages of Houghton, North Stoke, South Stoke and Offham in the River Arun valley. We saw Arundel Castle and Arundel Cathedral before going through Arundel Park, merging temporarily with a huge sponsored walk happening that day.
