The cows in Surrey are gaily coloured.
Tea and cakes at the end of the walk!
Welcome to the GOC Surrey Homepage:
GOC Surrey had its 1st walk on 29th January 1995 and has walked on the 4th Sunday of each month since.
We usually have over thirty men and women turn up, so you are sure to find someone to share the beautiful Surrey views with and plenty of interesting conversation. If you rely on public transport then a brief message posted on the event page normally ensures that you have a lift from a convenient train station. Our walks are predominantly circular between 8 – 12 miles long. Lunch is a packed lunch and we always end the walk with a hot drink and home baked cake brought in by some members (if Mrs Beeton were alive, she could judge the competitive cake makers).
We are a friendly group of people and always welcome new members. Coming along to your first event can be a daunting prospect but don’t let that stop you as many of us attended on our own and love to mix with whoever turns up. GOC has a try before you buy approach where you attend 3 events before you need to join up to receive event details. To get details of any walks you would like to try please contact Gordon Pullenger.
Most importantly of all; the Surrey group is your group and suggestions on events you’d like to see or thoughts of how the group can progress are always welcome.
The Coordinator for GOC Surrey is Gordon Pullenger and he can be contacted here

Our forum page which will be used for discussions about upcoming and past events and as members you can also post topics is here

We had a rather nervous start with the Frensham Sponsored Ride event taking place in a large field adjacent to the car park, the surrounding roads were awash with horseboxes. However we got everyone safely parked and the walk started on time.
Rupert then led us on a stunning walk in warm sunshine....
Richard led 22 keen walkers and four dogs on this varied walk through woodland and heath on a route which was new to the Surrey group. The weather was kind to us, mild and dry although we didn’t see any sun. Not only did we walk in three counties but ...
As the UK prepared for Arctic blasts today and next week nothing stopped twenty four members from their walk today. After a nervous time with trains from London cancelled and frantic dashes by taxi we set off to a slightly delayed start.
The weather was amazing with bright sunshine all day with some invigorating gusts of chill wind....
You might have thought that this walk was going to be a repeat of familiar paths, but you would have been mistaken. Patrick had cleverly winkled out some unknown routes combined with some familiar scenes to make a very interesting day. After a couple of rather wet months we did encounter some slippery mud which resulted in some buttock encounters with the ground....
