This weekend saw the final camping trip of the year for the East Midlands group.
Despite the insistent rain on Friday, twenty of us pitched up. Saturday saw a 7-mile walk beneath the big skies of south Lincolnshire, led by Sue T. After the walk, a planning meeting was held to sort out next years events, accompanied by tea and cake.
On Saturday evening, thirty-four of us took over the barn on the campsite for a hog roast and disco, during which Fred reflected back over the last year in which the East Midlands Group has seen rather a few changes.... See the full article

This was a GOC first--a women only walking weekend.
Women are under represented in the Club so to try and encourage more women to get involved in their local groups, the trustees had approved a limited number of women only events, to try and address this issue.
The aim is to get a nucleus of women walking with all the groups, which can only benefit everyone involved with the Club.
I limited the number to 30 for the whole event.This was mainly because finding a venue that could cater for this amount of people for the planned Saturday evening meal, was difficult.... See the full article
