Yorkshire Dales, Great Whernside. (Planned again after cancelled from 5 June)

Event Details

Our Groups are up and running with their activities.   From the 1st of May we will no longer require advanced booking for most events.  Events may still require advanced booking if it is necessary to place a limit on the number of attendees based on the event's risk assessment, or other factors.

General information

This 8 mile walk starts by climbing a track, contouring along a Tor Dyke before climbing to 704m. Wonderful views over Upper Wharfedale and Nidderdale.  Descend by a path down to the fields via Hag Dike to the starting point.

Food & Drink:  please bring a packed lunch and something to drink.  We may be able to have tea and cake in a cafe afterwards.

Equipment:  walking boots, waterproof jacket and trousers, warm clothing. Trekking pole(s) recommended if normally used.

Terrain / Difficulty

Moderate mountain walk with some sustained climbs and descents.
