Woods, Walls, and Water…
A 7 mile walk from Whitestone to the Narth, following ancient pathways through woodlands on the western side of the Wye, with some outstanding views along the way.
This is a moderate walk, with a steep descent down a narrow path with some stone steps fairly early on in the walk, followed soonafter by a couple of steeper climbs up through the forest. We return for the last few miles mainly along forest tracks via Cleddon Falls with some shorter climbs and near the end of the walk there are a couple of A-Frame stiles over walls, which have to be climbed up, over and down to reach the road that takes us back to the car park. There should be carpets of bluebells in the woods along the way at this time of year.
