NB: This walk starts at 1pm, giving you an opportunity to explore the local area for yourself, in the morning.
This is a 5 mile easy, yet undulating walk through three of Swansea's most beautiful and historic parks, finishing with refreshments at the top of the tallest building in Wales on the waterfront. Boots not required.
The walk will visit the city's botanic gardens and the park which helped shape poet Dylan Thomas's childhood.
There is also a possible visit to the Dylan Thomas childhood home for which a charge of £6 will be payable on the day.
We may then take the local bus to avoid a one mile road walk.- contactless payment available. After reaching the city centre, the walk briefly calls at the Waterfront Museum or Dylan Thomas centre and strolls through the marina to finish at the Meridian Tower where a reasonably priced café /bar provides extensive views over the city.
From there participants make their own way back to the university campus; a 1.5 mile stroll along the seashore/beach or catch a bus (frequent service from the Quadrant bus station or Civic Centre.’
