Sun 8. Sherborne and the Windrush Valley

Event Details

Restarting Events

We are restarting some events with the easing of lockdown restrictions.

Walks can once again take place in England, Scotland and Wales, and will be run in accordance with local regulations.   In most cases our walks will allow for a maximum of 30 participants, although a lower limit may be in place following an event's risk assessment.   All walks require every participant to pre-book via the website.

General information

A diverse walk through the tranquil National Trust Sherborne Estate taking in the picturesque Cotswold architecture of Sherborne village, woodland and farmland, and the water meadows of the River Windrush, with far-reaching, scenic views across the valley.

Four years ago, the estate was chosen as the location for the BBC programmes, Springwatch and Autumnwatch.  The unspoilt landscape with its rich diversity of flora and fauna proving an ideal place to follow the changing face of the countryside through the seasons.

As we will finish early, there will be the opportunity to move on to Stow-on-the-Wold for a drink and a stroll round this historic market town, or to stay and visit the nearby National Trust property of Lodge Park.
