Coronavirus Update  4 April 2020

Unfortunately we have had to cancel this event following the latest Government advice to cancel all but essential travel.  The YHA have agreed to refund our group booking and I will ask the GOC Treasurer to refund those who booked through the GOC website.  If you booked direct and want to cancel, please contact the YHA directly.

This eco-friendly hostel offers superb Snowdonia accommodation for activity breaks in the Ogwen Valley and is surrounded by all of the area’s geographical wonders.

We have booked a total of ten places in a room for 6 and a room for 4 in this YHA in the heart of the national park on.  Early booking is recommended it you want to reserve a place.  Booking is easy using the booking option on this page of the website. The cost is £48 for the two nights.

Arrive on the Friday evening for an informal meal either self catering or take a hostel meal.

There will be a longish walk on the Saturday, and we plan to eat together that evening either at the hostel or a local pub.  A shorter walk will be arranged for the Sunday allowing a finish by mid-afternoon for those who have to travel.

You will need to supply your own food for lunch and breakfast - or take the YHA breakfast. There is cooking equipment in the hostel, and bedding is provided,  but you will need to bring your own towel.  The hostel is well fitted out with showers etc.

The nearest railway stations are at Betwys-y-coed or Llanberis.

People intending to take part in this event should read GOC's document Safety in the Hills.
