I thought it being winter I would organise an easy local walk, with a post walk social element.
An easy six to eight miles from the main gates for Roundhay Park on Princes Avenue. We will walk through the park past the upper lake and across the golf course to the ring road. We then take field paths to Shadwell, go past the Red Lion and back towards the ring road. Now it's through the trees and up the gorge to the lunch spot at the shelter. After lunch down towards Waterloo Lake and then cross to Wyke Woods. We come back via Elmete Lane and through the woods past the folly castle to the end.
The plan after the walk is to come back to my flat for tea/coffee and cake. Yes I will make a couple of cakes. Please remember to put your name down on the list so I know how many mugs to wash. The maximum I can take is twenty.
Terrain / Difficulty
Easy walk, a bit of road/pavement walking, field paths and woodland.
