Centred around the village and castle at Raglan, this 7 mile circular walk will include the opportunity for those wanting to visit the castle towards the end of the walk (see note below). Enjoying views across the surrounding countryside, we'll have the chance to see a few sights not often seen, as well as enjoying far reaching views across to the Brecon Beacons. Most of the walk is off road and there are some livestock on the route. Stile/gate count approximately ten, easy to cross.
There will also be an extended lunch stop at Raglan Castle, and the 'Raglan Castle Cafe' is sited behind the castle, serving the usual round of beverages, and importantly, cake !! Also, bring some money if you would like to start and finish at the pub.
If you would like to visit the castle, the entrance fee is £7.30, or £5.80 for seniors (aged 65+) and the castle is open from 9.30 am to 5 pm daily. (https://cadw.gov.wales/visit/places-to-visit/raglan-castle).
