We head up the north end of the Osmotherely Village to join the Cleveland Way for a 9.5 mile circular walk, climbing gradually, passing a small RC chapel on route to Scarth Wood Moor. If conditions are good, we will have long distance views towards Roseberry Topping and will probably stop here for a short  Tea break.

After heading north we turn east to reach cod beck. Crossing the beck, we walk towards the old chequers inn and just beyond we follow the footpath turning right towards Thimbleby Bank. We climb the bank (steep but short and is like an enchanted forest) At the top we plan to have lunch.

We now make our way across the bank through some stunning forest tracks and dodgy cliff edges!!!  gradually descending to the road that leads to Thimbleby village. Walking through the village we then take a left-hand track which leads us back to our start point in Osmotherley.
