Mon 3. Chipping Norton and it’s past, from mighty Mills to Status Quo.

Event Details

Restarting Events

We are restarting some events with the easing of lockdown restrictions.

Walks can once again take place in England, Scotland and Wales, and will be run in accordance with local regulations.   In most cases our walks will allow for a maximum of 30 participants, although a lower limit may be in place following an event's risk assessment.   All walks require every participant to pre-book via the website.

General information

This walk will feature Chipping Norton, (Chippy to the locals), known as the Gateway to the Cotswolds.  We will also visit the sleepy hamlet of Over Norton.
Chippy has an interesting past, some of which we will see at the end of the walk, including the yarn bomber, rock stars and riots.  We will also discover the link between a strike and a silver tea pot!

The paths out of town can be muddy, after wet weather, and uneven, so walking boots are recommended.

Terrain / Difficulty

Easy but can be muddy in places after wet weather.

Approximate Distance

4 miles
