Mon 1. Chipping Campden. Glos.
Chipping Campden: An Architectural walk around the Jewel of the Cotswolds.
A short walk (about 2 miles) in and around Chipping Campden. We will see the famous High Street with buildings dating from the 14th to the 17th centuries including the splendid Market Hall. Also, many buildings associated with the Arts and Crafts Movement. We have also negotiated private access to the site of Old Campden House courtesy of the Landmark Trust. Finishing around lunchtime.
There are plenty of places for lunch afterwards and, for those who wish to stay longer, there is one of the best of the Cotswold Wool Churches, the Arts and Crafts Museum at Court Barn and the silversmith’s workshops at the Silk Mill as well as great scope for retail therapy. Alternatively, a stroll on Dover’s Hill would be a good place to picnic with panoramic views over the Vale of Evesham.
