A 7.5 mile walk through a number of woods, past a lake, along a canal, close to relics of the salt industry, through a charming old village, across fields and along lanes. The walk begins at Marbury Country Park on the north side of Northwich. After walking through the park (alongside Budworth Mere and then through woods) we'll follow the Trent & Mersey canal for a while and past the Lion Salt Works. After this we will cross fields to the beautiful and charming village of Great Budworth. Finally, traversing lanes, footpaths and through more woods we progress back to the start point.
Terrain / Difficulty
Largely flat terrain with some small bits of up and down. Likely to be muddy in places so walking boots are essential. Only one stile on the walk.
