Coronavirus / Covid-19
Following recent changes in government advice regarding Covid-19 to avoid all non-essential travel and maintain social distancing, all walks and other activities are cancelled until further notice.
We will continue to review the situation in line with guidance issued by the government. Further information can be found here, and will be udpated in due course.
Discover the rolling landscape on the south-west flank of Titterstone Clee! This 10-mile field walk with stiles leaves the outskirts of Ludlow and heads up to the iron age hill fort of Caynham Camp, throught the village of Caynham itself and then up the hill to Knowbury via Bennettsend. Views are exceptional throughout - on the skyline can be seen (but not necessarily at the same time) the Malverns and the Abberleys and, closer to hand, Titterstone Clee summit and Mortimer Forest behind Ludlow. We return through open farmland to Lower Ledwyche and Ludlow. There is then an open invitation to tea and cake at Bedlam (directions at the end of the walk). Overall ascent is 320 metres, chiefly in the first half of this moderate walk.
Terrain / Difficulty
Moderate. We shall be using public footpaths mostly, with occasional short stretches of quiet country lane.
