Llyn Crafnant and Llyn Geirionydd with a Mountain Between
Our walk will take us from Llyn Crafnant through the northern edge of the Gwydyr Forest as we descend to Llyn Geirionydd. We’ll then walk upward and over Mynydd Deulyn (Mountain of the Two Lakes) catching sight, weather permitting, of Crimpiau 1558ft. and Craig Wen 1798ft. before dropping down to Llyn Crafnant.
The section before lunch will see us walking uneven paths with exposed tree roots and rock. You will need to be agile and accepting of the need to clamber over exposed rocks.
We’ll take a refreshment break on reaching Llyn Geirionydd before we traverse a very short section again over exposed rock before reaching our lunch stop. Post lunch the walk continues on much easier / regular pathways.
The walk over the Mountain of the Two Lakes sounds worse than it is - we gain height gradually so nothing strenuous is involved. Walking boots are strongly recommended and please ensure you have clothing for changeable weather - all the images on this page were taken on the same day! NOTE THE START TIME !
