Coronavirus / Covid-19
Following recent changes in government advice regarding Covid-19 to avoid all non-essential travel and maintain social distancing, all walks and other activities are cancelled until the end of April.
We will continue to review the situation with regard to events beyond April. Further information can be found here, and will be udpated in due course.
This is a 7 mile approx. walk starting at Pontcysyllte World Heritage Site and the famous aqueduct.
***NB The walk doesn't actually go over the aqueduct so if you want to explore for yourself and walk over it but maybe unsure how you will react to the height of it, I suggest you get there prior to the walk when it should be quieter, otherwise there will be time to walk over it at the end of the walk.
We start off with a short bit on the canal before veering off towards Trevor Hall wood walking upwards through the wood on the Offa's Dyke path.
We join the "panorama walk" with fantastic views down to Llangollen and the surrounding area.
Then join a lower path back through Trevor Hall wood before dropping down to return to the aqueduct on the Llangollen canal.
Refreshments in the Chapel café at the end of the walk to celebrate a fabulous weekend of walking and socialising.
Terrain / Difficulty
Some ups and downs through fields and greenery and an ascent up through the woods which is on good paths. Can be muddy in places.
