General information

This is a 6.5 miles partly moderate, partly easy walk which starts at the National Trust property of Llanerchaeron; a rare survivor of the core of a Welsh gentry estate complete with John Nash designed mansion, productive walled garden, and working farm.

We start with a climb through ancient woodland  and then across fields to lovely views of the Aeron valley and Ceredigion coastline. We descend to the pretty harbour town of Aberaeron with its brightly painted houses and where we will stop for lunch.

We will have lunch sitting around the harbour in Aberaeron.

Please bring a packed lunch or there is a good fish and chip shop and other take-aways at Aberaeron.

We return along a former railway line, now a walk and cycle path,  that runs parallel to the Aeron river.

At the end of the walk refreshments are available in the lovely Llanerchaeron cafe - great cakes, ice-cream etc.
