JOGLE Day 83 Combe Martin to Woolacombe
Today we enter our 4th Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the North Devon AONB.
The coast path and A399 seem to meet and part, as the path visits each point and bay. It is not flat, with steps shown many times
We meet Watermouth a gothic looking castle now an 'entertainments centre'.Later we come to Ilfracombe the largest harbour in North Devon, and it is where the MS Oldenburg departs for trips to Lundy Island.
Beyond Ilfracombe the A road has gone, but lanes and tracks are followed until short of Bull Point with it's lighthouse when we're back on lonely paths. The way out to Morte Point is more wild.
At Morte Point there is a reflex angle turn backĀ to Grunta Beach, a little curve to Barricane Beach, and a bigger arc to see the expanse of sand which is Woolacombe Bay.
