Our Groups are up and running with their activities. While there is generally no fixed maximum number of participants on an event, an event may have a limit in place based on it's risk assessment. All events still require every participant to pre-book via the website.
At 13.5 miles with shorter option of 10 miles, this is the second in our trial of longer walks, and the first accessible by train along the Carmarthenshire stretch of the Welsh Coast path. If there is enough interest, further walks from train stations will be organised.
From Gowerton to Burry Port rail stations, after an initial mainly built-up stretch, we are then treated to fine views across the Loughor Estuary towards Gower, passing sites of historic, sporting and environmental interest. The route follows mainly flat well made paths, with the majority on the cycle path, NCN4, though there may be some short deviations.
Burry Port boasts a pier, marina and lighthouse and cafes to round off our walk. Those preferring a shorter walk can catch the train back from Llanelli – making it an approx. 10 mile walk.
Trains return at least hourly.
Terrain / Difficulty
Although difficult in terms of distance, the route follows mainly flat well made paths, (cycle path) with only gentle ascents/descents.
