A 9 mile walk with spectacular views both within and over the Edale valley. This is a tough walk with a total ascent about 1600 ft. The climb up Lose hill takes about half an hour of continuous climbing, however at this stage everyone makes it up at their own pace. Once at the top, the views over the valley on one side and towards Castleton on the other are superb. The walk continues along the ridge passed Black Tor and on up to Mam Tor before descending back to Edale village. Opportunity for pub stop at the end. There is also a small café next to the station, the Penny Pot.
Food / Drink: please bring a packed lunch and something to drink. After the walk, suitable refreshment is available at the at the Rambler pub.
Equipment: walking boots, waterproof jacket and trousers, warm clothing, hat and gloves. Trekking pole(s) recommended if normally used.
