Restarting Events

Our Groups are up and running with their activities.   While there is generally no fixed maximum number of participants on an event, an event may have a limit in place based on it's risk assessment.   All events still require every participant to pre-book via the website.

General information

A delightful walk of about 9 miles through a rural Low Weald landscape, including the woodland pasture of Ebernoe Common (managed by Sussex Wildlife trust and home to a wide variety of wildlife) and with signs of an older industrial past (iron and brick making).  The walk gives a strong sensation of the peaceful landscape of the Sussex Weald, a mix of forest, pastureland and some arable with scattered farmhouses.

The walk is predominantly level but with a number of stiles (6?).  Should be mud free at this time of year. If you are thinking of wearing shorts, please be aware that on some of the paths there is quite a bit of vegetation.

Wear clothes and boots suitable for the terrain and weather. Bring drinks for the walk and a packed lunch for a short break. Dogs are welcome if kept on leads whenever crossing roads, in areas with livestock or requested by the walk leader.

Booking Process: Advance booking is required. Places are strictly limited to five people plus the leader. There is no charge but people without a booking are likely to be turned away. If you book then your circumstances change please remember to cancel your booking promptly in order to make the place available to someone else. During the walk attendees will be expected to follow social distancing rules at all times and to respect that others may have different sensitivities to personal safety.

Terrain / Difficulty

Predominantly flat, some stiles, should be dry at this time of year.
