Our Groups are up and running with their activities. From the 1st of May we will no longer require advanced booking for most events. Events may still require advanced booking if it is necessary to place a limit on the number of attendees based on the event's risk assessment, or other factors.
This is a 6.5 mile easy, and very beautiful walk accessible to all.
Starting from the centre of Llandeilo we will pass St Teilo's church, and St Teilo's well which supplied the townsfolk with water for centuries, until covered over in the mid nineteenth century. It is probably a sacred spring, perhaps used as a baptistry from early times.
Entering Castle woods and Dinefwr park we make our way to Dinefwr Castle and on to Newton house.
This parkland is very beautiful with deer and white park cattle in the grounds.
We will continue exploring the park, eventually making our way back to Llandeilo town centre, where we will have our packed lunches before walking down to the banks of the River Towy crossing the very shaky suspension bridge.
On the other side, the walk continues beside the river to the very pretty but little known Tregeyb wood, which we will explore before ending the walk back in the centre of Llandeilo, where refreshments will be available in a local hostelry.
