Charing to Westwell Circular Walk
A moderate 9 mile (14km) walk starting at Charing, near Ashford.
A walk to one of the highest points on the North Downs, passing the Kent Gliding Club at Challock, then returning via the village of Westwell, taking in the wildlife rich Longbeen Wood and Charing Beech Hangers with a number of superb views across the surrounding countryside from the Pilgrims Way which is also the North Downs Way along this section.
We aim to start at 10:30 prompt, however if you plan to be on a connecting train which arrives just a few minutes later then please let us know in advance, but preferably get the train which arrives before 10:30 if at all possible.
Do bring a packed lunch although we may stop at the pub in Westwell - if it's not crowded for Sunday lunch bookings - and there will likely also be a tea shop back in Charing at the end of the walk for those in need of cake.
