The Chiltern Hills were designated as an AONB in 1965. They are rich in wildlife, ranging from red kites to Duke of Burgundy butterflies. Habitats include endangered chalk grassland, farmland and many acres of woodlands (dominated by beech trees.) Some magnificent vistas of the Vale of Aylesbury and several incredible properties including the our PM country estate "Chequers."

Minimum 130 metres to 260 metres. Total ascent approx. 800 metres

Wendover is a popular market town due to being located at the base of the Northern Chilterns which makes making it a popular town for walkers, cyclists and adventurous individuals.

There are some challenging climbs especially at Brush Hill and Coombe Hill. An for the more adventurous an opportunity to reach summit of Beacon Hill (optional). The route may be changed depending on weather on the day.

Lunch will be in a small woodland with benches or on the grass with views at Brush Hill.

On this walk - I'm adding a Pub stop at The Plough at Cadsden for refreshments.
