Caving at Blue John Caverns, Derbyshire

Event Details

Want to escape those late winter rainclouds? Come follow us underground to explore the natural beauty of the Blue John Caverns!

From the website:

"The Blue John Cavern is steeped in history and old mining equipment is on view inside the cavern.  Guided tours are conducted throughout the cave system ... where a series of magnificent natural water-worn caverns are seen.  Blue John can be seen in its natural state along with stalactites, stalagmites and huge caverns.  See the Waterfall Cavern with it's multi-coloured dome...  Visit Lord Mulgraves Dining Room where his Lordship entertained miners, and where fine veins of Blue John can be seen in their natural state in the limestone...  Stand in the Variegated Cavern, 150 feet high!"

Entrance to the caves is £12 adults, and £9 seniors, and our tour will last approximately one hour. There is parking outside the entrance. After the tour, we will relax at the on-site café for tea and a chat!
