A circular walk in Coverdale, one of Yorkshires lesser known Dales so we are unlikely to meet other walkers along the way. From Carlton we follow field paths, mainly downhill to join the river Cover which we then more or less follow, mainly on the level to Horsehouse. The return leg is on slightly higher ground with some great views over the Dale before again decending to join and cross the river before ascending back to Carlton. None of the inclines are severe.
Terrain / Difficulty
A moderate walk with no steep climbs but may be muddy under foot in places
