Following recent changes in government advice regarding Covid-19 to avoid all non-essential travel and maintain social distancing, all walks and other activities are cancelled until further notice.

We will continue to review the situation in line with guidance issued by the government.  Further information can be found here, and will be udpated in due course.

General information

PLEASE NOTE THAT DUE TO THE COVID-19 CRISIS NO GOC EVENTS WILL BE TAKING PLACE UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

THE DETAILS OF THIS EVENT HAVE BEEN PUBLISHED FOR MEMBERS' INFORMATION WITH THAT STRONG CAVEAT. WE WILL DO OUR BEST TO SCHEDULE AND RUN THE EVENT WHEN IT IS SAFE TO DO SO, ACCORDING TO GOVERNMENT REGULATIONS AND ADVICE AND CONSIDERATION BY THE GOC BOARD.

 

Our 7th part in all, and the third section of the Capital Ring north of the River Thames take us a further 8 miles from Kingsbury as far as East Finchley. We will pass by the extensive West Harp reservoir, then through Hendon to run parallel with the River Brent and then the Mutton Brook for several miles along linear green parks.

The walk will be about 9 miles in length. As with other sections of the Capital Ring there will be opportunies to leave the walk early, should people find this convenient.

Terrain / Difficulty

Mainly on firm or tarmac paths, tracks or pavements, but with some rough, muddy ground and some steep climbs.
