In Septmeber and early October I will be attempting to complete the Camino de Santiago.   Leaving London on September 4th and starting the walk on Sepember 5th from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, France.   The route is well established and there are many websites, apps, and maps available to learn more about it.   It does not require any special equipment other then good long distance walking stamina.

My particular itinerary has 13 days of walking then a full day off in Burgos, then another 8 days of walking before another day off in Leon, then a final 14 days arriving in Santiago de Compostela on October 9 and flying home on October 11.

If you are interested in coming along, please do your research about it, and let me know your thoughts.  Apologies I'm not offering to share rooms, and my trip while completely self guided does includes luggage transfer between each nights stay, so the actual walking will be with a simple day pack.

Miscellaneous notes:

1) The distance is more then outlined in the Google maps picture.   I believe it is closer to 790 klms or about 490 miles.

2) The longest indivudal day on my route is about 20 miles though Day 1 (15 miles) with the climb into the Pyrenees is thought by some reviews to be the toughest individual day.

3) I may well fail, mainly due to blisters / foot issues, and go home early

4) I am not terribly religious so while I will certainly make many stops along the way to take in the natural and person made sites, my prayer time will be limited to short periods when approaching cafes in hopes that the cervezas is cold.
