At a length of approx. 14 miles, this walk is guaranteed to help you shed some of that Christmas turkey!
Starting from Mytholmroyd with an ascent to Broadhead Clough Nature reserve, we then follow Dick's Lane to reach the Stoodley Pike Monument.
After this, we will make our way to a couple of cairns called The Two Lads where we will stop for lunch.
From there, we'll follow a section of road, then peel off to explore the gorgeous woodlands surrounding Cragg Vale before arriving back into Mytholmroyd.
There are some gorgeous natural and man-made features to see along the way, and a nice variety of terrains to traverse.
Because of the shorter days, we'll be keeping to a fairly brisk pace, but I'd recommend bringing a headtorch along just in case. Gaiters are also recommended.
Food & Drink: please bring a packed lunch and something to drink. After the walk we hope to take refreshment at a local pub or cafe.
Equipment: walking boots, waterproof jacket and trousers, warm clothing. Trekking pole(s) recommended if normally used.
